Moody provides research-backed pet mood insights from sound. This policy explains how the app handles microphone access, on-device analysis, local history, and Google Play purchase status.
Summary
Moody uses your device microphone when you choose to record an animal vocalization. The app analyzes that audio to generate a pet mood estimate.

Information Moody uses
Microphone and audio recordings
Moody requests microphone access so that you can record animal vocalizations for analysis.
- We use recorded audio to capture the clip you choose to analyze.
- We extract acoustic features such as pitch, loudness, harshness, pulse rate, and tonal stability.
- We generate a mood estimate and explainability readout from those acoustic features.
- Recordings are processed on-device in the current version of the app.
- Recordings are not uploaded to our servers in the current version of the app.
Analysis results and recent history
Moody stores recent analyses locally on your device so you can review recent reads inside the app.
- Selected animal profile, such as Dog, Cat, or Other mammal
- Mood label and summary
- Confidence, arousal, and valence values
- Sample duration and local timestamp metadata
Purchase and entitlement information
If you choose to buy Moody Pro, purchases are processed by Google Play. Moody does not collect or store your full payment card information. Google Play may provide limited purchase status information needed to determine whether Pro access is unlocked on your device.

- Photos or videos
- Health or medical records
- Advertising identifiers for ad targeting
Data sharing
In the current version of Moody, we do not share your microphone recordings or locally stored analysis history with third-party advertisers, data brokers, or analytics providers.
Limited information related to purchases may be handled by Google Play in order to process transactions and manage entitlements, subject to Google's own terms and privacy practices.
Retention and deletion
- Recorded audio is used for immediate on-device analysis during app use.
- Recent analysis history remains stored locally on your device until you clear app data or uninstall the app.
- Moody does not maintain a server-side account database for users in the current version.
You can remove locally stored app data by clearing Moody's storage through Android settings. In the ordinary course of Android behavior, uninstalling the app also removes Moody's local app data.
Security
We aim to handle personal and sensitive data responsibly. In the current version of Moody, sensitive microphone access is requested only when needed for a user-facing feature, analysis is performed locally on-device, and purchases are handled through Google Play.
Children
Moody is not designed specifically for children and is not marketed as a child-directed service.
Changes to this policy
We may update this Privacy Policy from time to time. If we make material changes, we will update the date at the top of this page and, where appropriate, provide additional notice in the app or through the app listing.
